Privacy Policy

The short version: Pulse collects no personal data, has no accounts, no analytics, and no third-party cloud. Your videos stay on your device until you choose to upload them to a server your organization controls.

This Privacy Policy describes how the Pulse mobile application ("Pulse", "the app"), published by Medical Informatics Engineering, Inc. ("MIE", "we", "us"), handles your information on iOS and Android.

Data we collect

None. Pulse does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information. The app has:

No user accounts or sign-ups
No analytics or usage tracking
No advertising or advertising identifiers
No third-party data sharing

Where your content lives

On your device

Videos, clips, captions, and drafts you create are stored locally on your device. They remain there until you delete them or choose to export or upload them.

On your organization's server

If you pair Pulse with your organization's server (by scanning a QR code your organization provides), videos you choose to upload are sent directly to that server. That server is operated by your organization — not by MIE — and your organization's own privacy practices govern content stored there. We never receive a copy.

Captions are generated on-device

Automatic captions are produced entirely on your phone using an on-device speech model. Your audio is never sent to us or to any third party for transcription.

Device permissions

Pulse requests only the permissions it needs to function:

Camera — to record video
Microphone — to record audio with your videos
Photo library — to import videos into drafts and to save exported videos, only when you ask it to
Notifications — to tell you when uploads and exports finish (optional)

You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in your device settings.

Your choices and rights

Delete your content: deleting a draft in the app, or uninstalling the app, removes all locally stored content.
Content on your organization's server: contact your organization's administrator, as MIE does not hold or control that data.
Permissions: all device permissions are optional and revocable in system settings.

Because Pulse collects no personal data, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, export, or erase.

Children's privacy

Pulse does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
